This painting is based on the quarry monotypes I did last autumn from the quarry in Nantle, Wales. I have been back again this autumn and am making some new paintings and prints based on the same quarry.

Night Walk Painting

This diptage returns to the night walk taken on the Solway Coast one very beautiful evening as darkness was just creeping in.

Over The Solway Monotype

From a rocky bit of beach near Sandy Hills (the Scottish side of the Solway) my favorite beach visited again this half term, camping with the family. I grabbed a quick watercolour sketch which I made this Monotype from. The colours were so vibrant as the sky darkened just before it started to pour down.

The Lizard Tree Monotype

There is a tree on Bonis Hall Lane that you see as you drive towards the junction with the Silk Road into Macclesfield that I always thinks lookes like it has a Lizard sat in it.

Views of White Nancy Monotypes

These two images are views of White Nancy from the bottom of Clark Lane, a view that welcomes you into Bollinton just after turning in off the roundabout on the Silk Road.

From a walk in Macclesfield forest this is from the top looking East over the Peaks

Macclesfield Canal Monotype

This view of the canal is looking back towards the bridge just as you come onto the tow path off Clark Lane, Kerridge. A scene I pass often, I love the way the tree arches over the path.

Little Leo collection

Little Leo, Monotype#2
A couple of years ago I grew some little Leo Sunflowers, a dwarf variety they were fab so I did a couple of paintings of them to brighten up my kitchen. I have just revisited the sunflower images I started with this little monotype.

I then took some petals on paper and stuck them on a canvas and did this collage and oil painting, because the yellow petals of the big flower is monotype on paper they seem to glow against the dark background.

I liked the first monotype image so I did a large oil of it, this little Leo is not so little.

Finally another monotype not a little Leo this time I cant remember the variety it was a straggler against the back fence but still a wonderful flower.

I was quite taken with the shape of this lichen found on a rock on the beach.

This painting incorporates some collaged monotype work and was another image inspired by Lichen on the rocks of the beach at Kippford.

This is one of the tiny shells I found on the beach last summer or was it the summer before...

This monotype is based on a sketch done from Rockcliff beach in the summer.
