Little Leo collection

Little Leo, Monotype#2
A couple of years ago I grew some little Leo Sunflowers, a dwarf variety they were fab so I did a couple of paintings of them to brighten up my kitchen. I have just revisited the sunflower images I started with this little monotype.

I then took some petals on paper and stuck them on a canvas and did this collage and oil painting, because the yellow petals of the big flower is monotype on paper they seem to glow against the dark background.

I liked the first monotype image so I did a large oil of it, this little Leo is not so little.

Finally another monotype not a little Leo this time I cant remember the variety it was a straggler against the back fence but still a wonderful flower.

I was quite taken with the shape of this lichen found on a rock on the beach.

This painting incorporates some collaged monotype work and was another image inspired by Lichen on the rocks of the beach at Kippford.

Shell and Stone#2 Monotype

This is one of the tiny shells I found on the beach last summer or was it the summer before...

Rough Island Monotype

This monotype is based on a sketch done from Rockcliff beach in the summer.

Night Walk Monotype

This is an image from a walk along the coast path and beach at Kippford as night was falling it was a very beautiful evening, the light was amazing dark and vividly bright all at the same time.

Solway Monotype

This print is looking out over the Solway Firth towards the Lakeland hills, just up from the beach at Sandy Hills.
